Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Brummy Artist Fine Art?
I’m Sandra Palmer, a Birmingham-born artist creating surreal botanical digital collages using my own photography.
My work brings together flowers, architecture, memories and places that mean something to me — often with a distinctly Birmingham twist. I’m passionate about creating art that makes you stop, smile and notice the beauty around you.
What makes your artwork unique?
Every piece begins with my own photography, from flowers I’ve grown and photographed to Birmingham landmarks and places that inspire me.
I then layer and transform these photographs digitally to create colourful, dreamlike collages that blend nature, memory and place.
Look closely and you’ll often find my signature hummingbird hidden within the artwork — and sometimes a Parma violet, a little nod to my family.
Where are your artworks created?
I’m a Birmingham artist, born and raised in the city, and Birmingham continues to be a huge part of my inspiration.
My work also reflects my love of nature, flowers and the little moments of beauty we can easily overlook.
Are your prints made from your original artwork?
Yes. Each print is produced from my original digital collage artwork.
I use my own photography and carefully prepare each artwork for fine art printing, so you’re buying a professionally produced print of an original Sandra Palmer artwork.
What paper do you use?
My fine art prints are printed on heavyweight 200 - 250gsm + museum-grade archival paper made from 100% cotton rag.
It has a beautiful fine art feel and is chosen to complement the quality and detail of my artwork.
Are your prints signed?
Yes. Limited edition prints are individually signed and numbered by me and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Open edition prints are not part of a numbered edition.
How many prints are in a limited edition?
This varies depending on the artwork.
The edition size is clearly stated on the individual product page.
Once a limited edition has sold out, I don’t simply print more.
What size are your prints?
My standard fine art prints are A4.
Brum Gambit is the exception and is available in A3.
The artwork is carefully positioned on the paper with a generous border, allowing it to be framed beautifully.
What is Brum Gambit?
Brum Gambit is my love letter to Birmingham — a fully playable chess-inspired artwork where Birmingham landmarks replace the traditional starting positions on the chessboard.
The collection was inspired by a chess set gifted to me by my late father when I was a child, making it a particularly personal piece of my practice.
Brum Gambit is available as an A3 limited edition, with each print signed and numbered.
Do you offer framing?
My prints are currently supplied unframed, giving you the freedom to choose a frame that suits your home and style.
I’m always happy to offer guidance on framing if you’re unsure what would work best.
How long does my order take?
I usually aim to dispatch orders within 3–4 working days.
Some artworks may have different turnaround times, so please check the individual product listing before ordering.
🎄 What are your Christmas pre-order dates?
Christmas pre-orders for selected artworks are open from:
1 September – 16 November 2026
Christmas orders will be dispatched in early December 2026.
If you’re ordering a Brum Gambit A3 print as a Christmas gift, please make sure your order is placed by 16 November 2026.
🎄 Will my order arrive in time for Christmas?
I’ll do my best to make sure Christmas orders placed within the stated pre-order period are dispatched in early December.
However, once your order has been dispatched, delivery is handled by the postal service, so I recommend ordering early to avoid the Christmas rush.
Do you ship internationally?
At the moment, I only ship within the UK.
How is my artwork packaged?
I take great care when packaging your artwork so it arrives safely.
Prints are carefully protected using quality packaging materials, including FSC-certified acid-free tissue paper where appropriate.
I also try to keep my packaging as thoughtful and environmentally conscious as possible.
Will the colours look exactly like they do on my screen?
Colours can vary slightly between screens, phones and monitors.
I take care to display my artwork as accurately as possible, but your print may have subtle differences in colour from what you see digitally.
Can I buy your artwork as a gift?
Absolutely.
My artwork makes a lovely gift for someone who loves Birmingham, flowers, nature, beautiful interiors — or simply needs a little more joy on their walls.
Do you create bespoke artwork?
Yes.
I love creating artwork with meaning, particularly when there is a special place, memory or story behind it.
I can create bespoke digital collage artwork using meaningful locations, architecture, botanical photography and personal ideas.
If you have something special in mind, get in touch and we can talk about your idea.
Can you create artwork of a special Birmingham landmark?
Potentially, yes.
Birmingham is a huge part of my practice, and I love transforming familiar places into something unexpected.
If there is a particular Birmingham landmark or place that means something to you, please get in touch to discuss a bespoke commission.
Do you sell original artwork?
My practice is primarily focused on original digital collage artworks and fine art prints.
Where an original or special one-off artwork is available, this will be clearly identified on the product page.
How can I look after my print?
For the best longevity, keep your print away from prolonged direct sunlight, excessive humidity and damp conditions.
I recommend using a good-quality frame and, where appropriate, UV-protective glazing.
What if my print arrives damaged?
I’m so sorry if your artwork doesn’t arrive in perfect condition.
Please contact me as soon as possible with photographs of the artwork and packaging so I can help resolve the problem.
Please keep the original packaging until the issue has been resolved.
Can I return my artwork?
As my fine art prints are made to order, I’m unable to accept returns for change of mind or incorrect size/choice.
However, if your print arrives damaged, faulty or not as described, please contact me within 14 days of delivery and I’ll be happy to help with a replacement or refund where appropriate.
I have another question. How can I contact you?
I’d love to hear from you.
Whether you have a question about an artwork, want to discuss a bespoke commission or simply want to say hello, you can get in touch through my contact page.
